  • Where am I and can I ever get back?

It seems that even getting a moment to put my thoughts down in a blog has become nearly impossible. I am either lacking in thought or lacking in time.

We spent yesterday decorating the house; well the inside at least; for Christmas. I have never had a real tree and this year we decided to go with that instead of our normal fake one. I must say, I am thrilled with the results. As soon as I get the pictures on the computer, I will post a few pictures.

Picking out the tree became an all day ordeal. We hit a few tree farms and found one we really liked, but then the guy told us that those tress had been on the lot since Thanksgiving. He was expecting a new shipment of fresh trees later in the day so we decided to wait for the fresher ones.

While we waited, we decided to head to Wal-Mart and take a look at their selection. We also needed new lights for the tree; our old one was prelit; and some new ornaments. Our glass ornaments didn't hold up to well last year with the busy two year old around the tree. So, off we went in hopes of finding something less fragile.

Imagine my surprise; they make non shatter ornaments! I am sure these things have been around for some time, but we haven't gone ornament shopping in years, so I was so happy to find these. They have since been tested and they really do not shatter.

The house is holding up well. I have been a bit lax these last few days so I have some work to do this weekend, but it shouldn't take me too long.

Em is doing better. We seem to go from one extreme to the other. She either can't go or she can't stop going. Potty training her is going to be fun. She goes in for the tests on Wednesday. I made the appointment that day because it is Matt's day off. Little did I know that he was scheduled for some training that day and will not be home after all. I can't even imagine trying to take Caleb with me while Emily has these tests done, so I am a bit stressed over a sitter at the moment. Worse case scenario, either Whitney or Jake stays home that day to watch Caleb.

That is it for now. I am hoping that I can find my way out of all of this and get some normalcy back. Have a good weekend.

My family always had a real tree -- when I got married, we had very little money, so my in-laws gave us a fake tree and we have used that the past two years and this year I am ready to have a real tree again. I miss the smell. =) I saw the shatter-proof ornaments at Walmart as well -- I think I'm going to go buy the silver and black ones and have a theme. Hehe. I am excited. I love having matching things.

Good luck with finding a sitter for Wednesday and don't you hate it when things seem to be on schedule and then something like work has to come in and mess it up!

we had a real tree our first christmas and I loved it but with kids it's hard.  Plus they're kind of expensive lol.  We have a fake one this year, i miss the fresh tree smell tho.

That could be any kids dream... an excuse to miss school!  HA!

We are a bit of grinches - we dont decorate at all.  Maybe when there are kids we will.  But the cat would destroy everything.  And I hate the decorating/taking down parts.  So our house will just be 'normal'.  I do enjoy looking at other peoples decorations though.  I cant wait to see pictures!
