Drive by
I am not really here. I am really hard at work moving, seriously.
Yesterday, Whitney and I spent the better part of the day moving things between the two houses. Both of us are a bit on the anal side and after we had moved all the packed boxes over we spent the rest of the night unpacking them and putting things away. Even in the midst of a move; I hate walking into a disaster area. Today is all about the unpackable things. Clothes, dishes, food, etc. The movers will be here Wednesday morning bright and early and our goal is to have nothing left but the heavy furniture.
The house is looking great. All the pictures have been hung (which with eight children you can imagine the sheer number of pictures we have), and the toys have found their rightful places. They did a great job of getting the house move in ready for us; even the side yard was cleared of the weeds and such.
My list is written and I am just waiting for Caleb to decide it is time to get up so that we can begin the process once again. Today is going to be the tough day because all of the items are just things that won't fit into boxes. By this evening I hope to have it all over there and spend tomorrow getting everything in the right places. Heather did pick up the kids so that made this process a bit less difficult. I did lose my child labor, but I gained not having to listen to "are we done yet?" and an entire backseat I can fold down for more space.
Lessons I feel I should pass on that I have learned during this move; always make sure there is toilet paper at the new house. Also, when moving with a toddler that is scared of large toilets and only wants to sit on his seat that makes his little butt fit on the big toilet; bring the seat with you. Number one no problem; number two BIG problem. (sigh) One quick trip back to the old house to clean up and I am forever going to remember those two things.
Hope your V day was great and that your Sunday is even better. Gotta get my move on! Later.

Hahaha! Yeah I learned in my many moves to always keep a roll of TP handy.Â
I hope things continue to go smooth! Yay for a new house and a fresh start.
"always make sure there is toilet paper at the new house" Yes! I'm not the only one!!! Hahaha I did that once when I was pregnant and never again!
Both very good things to remember!! We made suuuuure we had toilet paper when we were moving in this house this summer. lol. I'm glad you guys are getting things done!! Can't wait to hear all about your new house!
What? I am the only one that likely has TP in her car at any given time?? Hey, it's as good as tissue but cheaper and far more versatile!
@filtered_sunlight - nope... I do that too!
What kind of people dont leave the partial roll when leaving? That is seriously mean! I always make sure there is toilet paper left on the roll when I move out of somewhere...
@der_lila_Stern@xanga - *raises hand and hangs head* That'd be me. A lot of cleaning companies remove e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g when they're cleaning a move-out anyway...it was part of our agreement when I worked for one. A lot of landlords like to discourage the people stopping by to look at the property from using the bathroom there and messing it up for other potential renters.
Also? I had purchased the package at the old house when my now-ex-hubby told me he wanted me to move out of "his" house "ASAP" two days after we'd agreed that I would "rent" the spare bedroom from him for at least the last 6 months of 2007.
Not. Cool. My TP went with me. ALL of it. Without his knowledge.
I SO hope he got stranded. In fact, on occasion when I'm feeling down, I like to picture him waddling to the kitchen for paper towels. My only regret is that I didn't take those, too!
@filtered_sunlight - I have never wanted you more. LOL, picturing him waddling to the kitchen...I swear you are my long lost sister.
@gwacemom - Uh huh...and? Better than just plain old milk? I have spit up on my jeans today! *wink...licks index finger and smoothes it over eyebrows*
(Tax checks come in Friday and I swear the first thing I'm going is running out to buy a third pair of jeans...I just bought these two that I have now right before we found out we were expecting Megan and sure wasn't going to run out and buy anymore when I didn't know how long it'd be before I could wear them again...then the money wasn't there and I wanted to loose weight - ha - and it got put off and put off...I really need to just bite the bullet, ya know?)
@filtered_sunlight - that is awesome! I would have done the same!!!
