  • Productive day

This morning I woke up at 5:30 to the smiling face of my sweet angel. She had decided that sleep was for the weak and we should begin the day before the sun. Emily is really lucky she is so freaking adorable because otherwise I would see a for sale sign in her near future.

Something strange happened though. I was refreshed and ready to face the day. Before it was time to take the kids to school I had completed two loads of laundry and had one put away. I had found yet another earwig bug near my bed and had decided that enough was enough. When we moved we kept the box springs on the floor. It made it much easier for Em to get up there and we didn't have to worry about her falling off. Well, no longer. Those little buggers were heading straight for my sleep space and I was through playing around. I got our bedframe and had the mattress and box springs on their sides ready for it to be put together.

As soon as I took the three oldest to school I came home and began to set up the bedframe. I doused the baseboards in my room with Pine Sol and then vacuumed the hell out of it. Pine Sol is an alternative to bug spray. It smells nicer and is less toxic. My room was nice and clean by the time I took Liz to school.

I didn't stop once we were back home. I cleaned the living room entirely as well as the kitchen. The only thing left in the kitchen is to mop and I have that on my list for tomorrow. I cleaned out some drawers that always gather junk and even fixed my vacuum.

I took all the bedding from our room as well as my normal loads of clothes and just completed all of that. Tomorrow is just a quick mop and cleaning of my dressing area. I am ready for Spring Break!! The kids are  home for two weeks after tomorrow and I finally have the house under control.

Our broker called today and after I complained again about the infestation she agreed to bring the workmen out to clear all the wood from outside and to pay for the exterminator once more. Yay!! I am hoping that since Emily woke up so early that she will bless me with an early bedtime.

Have a wonderful night and an even better Friday!!

Wow. Way to go. You made me tired just reading all of that. It's great that your broker is going to help get rid of icky bugs. I'm shuddering just imagining them near my bed. Eww.

I'll have to remember the pinesol trick. I usually use regular cleaner, but it doesn't smell as pretty. It was a tip from an old boy friend -- If it is dangerous for a human to swallow, then it will kill a bug. We end up with a horrible any problem every year, so I am always looking for better solutions.

Which reminds me.. I need to pick up caulk to seal up the kitchen again. (now rambling. Will stop).

The kids are home for 2 weeks and you did all the work without them!?!  I thought you were a better slave driver than that!  Better send them to my house...

@bluewingz - I dont know if it is true or not, but I remember reading that ants cant digest cornmeal.  So leave a little pile of it for them.  Its worth a try at least because it isnt harmful to humans!

Good job! I love days like that! Yesterday was starting like that... but then I got caught up in my computer. I did clean up, but not as much as I would have liked. I am going to try and finish cleanig today. Even though I cleaned the kitchen yesterday and the dishes from dinner are still out. I hate that too, but I was too exhausted last night after we got home from attending a friend's birthday get-together, that I said I would do them this monring.

Now I need to get to work!
