Embrace the bubbles
Due to some issues with depression; I have to maintain my home in a pretty specific manner. In my world a messy home equates a messy mind and it exasperates the depression. So, while having six kids in the house means my home is never spotless; I do stay on top of things pretty well.
My normal routine is to start in my bedroom each morning and work my way through the rest of the house. I do not move onto the next room until that room is clean. I have learned that by using this method; I have focus and a specific goal in mind. Random cleaning just doesn't work for me.
The last few weeks or so, Emily has been on a mission to remind me there is more to life than a clean home. She and Caleb both absolutely love bubbles. I bought this eight pack at the store for them and have since been chased with bottles of bubbles on a daily basis. I will be in the kitchen washing dishes and here comes Em with the bubbles. She looks so darn cute that you can't help but drop everything and blow some bubbles.
Their favorite place to play bubbles is in our living room. It drives Matt crazy, but we still do it. This morning they both sat in front of the vacuum as I was trying to clean and held up the bubbles. How could I resist?
I spent the next thirty minutes watching my two angels chase bubbles around the room. Yes, it has put me behind schedule. Yes, I will now still be folding laundry when the others get home. Yes, the floor still needs to be vacuumed, but I simply don't care. Sometimes in life, you just have to embrace the bubbles.
So, go out and embrace your inner bubble blowing child and have a fantastic day!!
