If it isn't one thing; it's puppies!!
This morning I woke up and realized that Bella did not come running to greet me. We have been on puppy watch for the past week or so and my first thought was; this is it! I searched all her normal hiding spots; called her half a dozen times; and she was simply not around. Josh came in and said she had taken to crawling under his bed and maybe she was there. He has the bottom bunk and drawers under that. You literally have to raise his mattress to take a look. Success; there was my sweet Bella, but no puppies. Okay, we decided to leave her there in case she was getting ready. A few minutes later she came out to head outside.
She had been back inside for about ten minutes when Jake called from his room. There was a whine coming from under Josh's bed and Bella was in the living room. Back we went and there he/she was. One little bitty puppy. Poor Bella had a near nervous breakdown when her puppy was discovered. It took us nearly an hour of her following me around with the pup to find her a spot she once again felt safe. For reasons only she knows; she ended up on Caleb's bed surrounded by her favorite blankie (Matt's). I checked on her a bit ago and puppy number two had made his/her debut. Mommy and babies are doing well and I am thinking one more might be on the way.

Last night I ended up taking Liz into the doctor. She has been sick since the weekend and I honestly was of the mind she was just eeking it on. When she got home from school she was complaining she couldn't turn her neck, so it was time to see the doctor. After a three hour drama filled visit it was determined she had a virus.
Having spent so much time within the Kaiser system with Emily; I have had my share of great doctors and those that I would run if I ever saw again. I put the one we saw last night somewhere in the middle. I could have waited until this morning and see our beloved Dr. P, but with the neck pain, I didn't want to wait it out. I wish now that I had.
I took Em with us because Matt was sleeping from his nightshift and Jake was going to be here with just the babies. Whit had gone to visit Travis and I didn't want Jake to have to cover everything. Normally, we are in and out in less than a hour so I wasn't worried about taking her. I should have worried.
Everything started out promising. We were the first appointment for urgent care so we were taken in right away. The doctor was hovering outside the door while the nurse did the intake and walked in as she walked out. I don't know what it was, but he just bugged. It could have been the way he spoke with Liz. I like to think that at ten, Liz is of an age to understand bigger words. He insisted on speaking to her as though he were addressing Emily. "We need to take a pee pee test. Do you think you can pee pee for us?" Liz looks over to me as if to say; wtf? After I explained what he wanted he continued with the exam. He ordered every test you could imagine and only stopped at a full blood work up when I insisted that wasn't necessary at this stage. I figured if her urine came back clear then we could discuss that, but at that moment, she didn't need to be stuck like a pin the tail on the donkey game.
After xrays and a finger stick to check for diabetes
; we were told she had a bacterial infection and finally given a prescription. Three hours just for that. Emily was less than thrilled at the duration of the visit and poor Liz was falling asleep on her feet. I am happy to say that the meds are doing their job and she seems to be feeling somewhat better. I am unsure at this point if she will finish out the last few days of school or just stay home and take it easy; we are taking it day by day.
Have a wonderful day. I hope to get the flip flops for Em today, but with the birth of the puppies; I am hesitant to leave. I hope to have puppy pics later!!

I somehow totally missed that Bella was even going to have puppies!
But that is still exciting. Are you planning on keeping them? Will I get to play with them?
And virus and bacteria are totally different. Make up your mind would you! geez!
Pictures. You owe us all pictures soon!
I am glad that she is felling better.
Yay for puppies. We want to see some pictures.
@der_lila_Stern@xanga - LOL, it was a bacterial infection. I am a new grandma; give me a break. Three puppies total, and most likely they will be here when you get here. We don't plan on keeping them (well, maybe one, but don't tell Matt). They should still be here when you arrive.
@gwacemom - Dont worry, your secret is safe with me... as long as he doesnt read your blog! LOL
@der_lila_Stern@xanga - When the kids were talking about keeping one Matt said no that we had enough dogs. We were going to sell the puppies. Whitney mentioned that we had less than half the amount of dogs vs. kids and perhaps we should sell some children instead.
She is such a mini me.
I don't think I ever mentioned Bellas condition. It was a difficult thing to discuss. She was the victim of assault by Sebastian after taunting him with her butt against the glass door for hours. At the trial he pleaded temporary insanity. He has since served his time and has promised to change his ways.
Listen lady, I'm on to you...teasing us with all this cuteness... First the flip-flops, now the puppies...when will it end?!?!
@filtered_sunlight - LOL, when I post a pic of me in a bikini. Everyone will drop dead of laughter and the fun will be over. Now I am going to go get that puppy pic and post it just for you. Flip flops are on hold til tomorrow due to puppy mania.
@gwacemom - It's all fun and games until our retenas are permanently damaged...
@filtered_sunlight - LOL, reminds me of this shirt that I want for some odd reason;
"It's only fun and games until the flying monkey's come out". I don't know why....lolol
@gwacemom - *snicker* What was that from? 'Bruce Almighty'?
@filtered_sunlight - I found it on Cafe Press one day. I cracked up and have been intending to buy it ever since. I also want the one for Emily that says; Sorry boys, Daddy says I can't date until monkey's fly out his butt.
@gwacemom - Bahahahaha! We'll have to get Megs and Em watching shirts of that one!!
I guess Bella learned her lesson! LOL! I do remember you mentioning a conversation you had with Matt about whose dog had to get fixed.
That comment by Whit is awesome! LOL!
