My day
I went to bed fairly early last night. Thankfully the marathon nap that Emily took yesterday afternoon was not enough to keep her from going to sleep around 8:30 last night. I crashed not moments later. The day had been long and I was simply exhausted.
The afternoon started in a fairly typical manner. Liz of course is getting out early all week, so I had her with me when I went to get Alyssa and Josh. We are almost to Jake and Whitney's school when the story begins.
Josh: Um, Ange; I got this progress report, but it is wrong.
Me: Define "wrong".
Josh: Well, I got it on Friday, but the teacher "forgot" to give me credit for all my homework so I have an F right now, but he is fixing it and I am getting another progress report in two weeks.
Me: Why am I just now hearing about this? Today is Monday, you got this on Friday.
Josh: Well, um....I knew you wouldn't believe me without my workbook showing I did all the work and the teacher had my workbook.
Me: Something just isn't adding up here.
Oy vey, just what I need. Turns out that he had given his dad one of the reports, but decided not to give him this one. The other one had a B- so he felt safe with that one. I look at the report and just as he stated, none of his homework is shown as being turned in. His workbook shows the work completed and stamped by the teacher, however. Okay, so maybe the story isn't that bad.
I do let him know that with his history, the fact that he didn't show me the slip on Friday makes the entire situation seem shady even if he is telling the truth. Had he just given us the slip that day and explained the situation, I most likely would have taken him at his word. As it stood, I had to call the teacher. Oh fun.
I contact the teacher and learn that he has given him credit for the homework. He took the workbooks home over the weekend and recorded the credit. My question; why then did you send out progress reports when you knew there was work yet to be put in the grade book? Today I will find out the answer. It still just seems odd that a teacher would send out a progress report showing the child and an F and not make some sort of notation that there was work not yet graded. Oh well, I shall find out soon.
Today has proven not much better. I think I am getting sick and Emily is as cranky as all get out which leads me to believe that she is falling ill as well. We all know how well handles my being sick and he is off the next two days. Someone save me.
Caleb has repeatedly asked me if I have seen one or more pieces of a transformer toy. No, I do not play with them and I really don't know where they are. I ran through my usual; "Did you look in the boys room? Did you look in the bathroom? Did you look in your room?" All questions were met with "yes, it wasn't there". Okay, I finally get tired of hearing it and set off in search of the toys. You will be shocked to learn that I found the pieces in the boys room, the bathroom, and Caleb's room.

I don't feel well so I am out of here. If you don't see me until Friday, blame Matt. LOL

Hey Transformers are hot! I don't blame him for wanting hi toy so bad! Lol...
You're just a crazy-magnet, my dear crow.
When they boys got in the car last night, between the two of them, they told a handful of out-right lies (which I knew to be lies without further investigate) in as many minutes. It quickly became, 'Okay, you don't want to be honest with me? Then don't talk to me. Thank you.' for the rest of the evening.
@filtered_sunlight - LOL, well I did draw you to my blog, didn't I?
Seriously? WTF is up with that teacher!?! Why would they send home a progress report like that?! If it was a B rather than an A when everything wasnt graded? Fine. But seriously, was the teacher trying to ruin the poor kids weekend!?!
Drink an extra margarita. Matt will enjoy the evening afterwards and drinking always makes any illness go away! lol
@gwacemom - not to mention that I was one of your first subscribers! lol
