• Buddy Walk Day!!

  I am armed with my pain meds and totally ready for the Buddy Walk.  I went out yesterday and finally had our team shirts made. They turned out too cute for words.

  We are heading out in about an hour for our second year of fun. I love the fact that all of the kids get so excited about this. Jake, Josh, and Liz even told their grandmother that they would absolutely not come down this weekend because we all had to walk for Emily. The love that all her brothers and sisters show her simply amazes me. Even when things are tough around here with Josh and his attitude, his love for Em shines through.

  As I have often said; I never set out to be this huge Down syndrome spokesperson. I was blessed with Emily and in my quest to put all my thoughts and feelings down, her story began to go public. I hope that those that have come to know us through this blog walk away not with a sense of sympathy, but with a sense of hope. Emily has the most amazing life and she has taught all of us so much just by living that life.

  To those that donated so generously to our Team Beauty Queen; thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Every penny helps raise awareness for those with Down syndrome and promote inclusion. For those that have faithfully followed our journey; thank you so much. Without you guys there would be no story and I am forever grateful that you guys stick around through the good and the bad.
