Buddy Walk Photos
This year was almost an epic fail. We arrived late due to some last minute issues popping up so parking was a nightmare. We got there about fifteen minutes before the actual walk started, so we had plenty of time to check in, grab our official Buddy Walk shirts and check out some booths. Caleb loves making a trick or treat bag and then going around to the different booths for candy.
It is only a mile walk, more symbolic than anything, so we decided to let Caleb hang back with Jake and the gang instead of taking the walk. Whitney, Mandi, Em, and myself were going to make the walk through the park while the other kids hit up all the different booths. There is face painting, a clown, a place to make hats, etc. I am glad we left them because we hadn't made it down the steps before I became very sick. It was only 74 outside and I was suddenly sweating like a whore in church. I am not sure if it is the medication or the fact that I haven't been able to eat or perhaps a combination of both, but I was really sick.
We decided to forgo the walk itself and head back to the booths. It is always nice to check them out because there are several different therapies that Em qualifies for and many of them I had no idea existed. We did our best to get pictures, but Emily was being less than cooperative. We only lasted about an hour before it got to be too much for me and we called it a day. The kids had a blast though and we look forward to next year's events.
Me, Whitney, Emily, Mandi, and Alyssa. Liz was off somewhere everytime we took pictures. She was there, I promise. Notice our shirts?
Mandi and Whitney hogging the camera.
Sure, you can kiss me, but don't expect one from me.
All of us except Liz. She was getting her face painted at the time.
Emily was quite tired and ready to go.
Finally, we are outta here. Look, it is Liz's butt right there on the left. She is in the pink shorts. Told ya she was there.
Bye Buddy Walk 2009. We will see you in 2010 and we will be your biggest fundraisers. Team Beauty Queen is already gearing up for next year.

love that last picture, especially
@Loonsounds@xanga - Thanks, it was my favorite as well.
*melts* Em simply grows more adorable by the day!
@filtered_sunlight - I swear she can't possibly get any cuter. On an odd note, Caleb will never wear his Team Beauty Queen shirt, so I have an extra one. It is a kids small so it is big on Em so I can imagine it will be big on Megan, but I always let Emily use them as sleep shirts. Do you think Megan would want it? I know that sounds weird, but it is a perfectly good shirt and then the two future bffs could be together in some abstract way. LOL, if you want it I will put it in the box of other stuff. If you don't it is no biggie, Em will just have two.
@gwacemom - Sweet! Megan would likely love it, since she adores Em's pictures on your page! And sleep shirts are a good thing...she has a few PJs, but most of them are long sleeved and/or footed. :)
@filtered_sunlight - Oh cool. I will put it in the box. I hope to get the box out on Monday. I love putting Emily in tshirts for jammies. They are way cheaper than the jammies at Wal-Mart.
Love the pictures! Sorry to hear you got sick, though. Hope you are feeling better.
you are so lucky! Emily is so beautiful! Looks like a great day! ^_^
@ShimmerBodyCream@xanga - Thanks so much. I am the luckiest mom in the world, I just sometimes forget that in the day to day drama of kids.
Sorry you were sick, but hope you are feeling better now. The pics are awesome though and it looks like despite it all it was a great time (+ love the shirts!).
Love the pictures. Its great that you all participated in this. Sorry you got sick. Hope next year is better.
@gwacemom - I was wondering why Caleb didnt have his Team Beauty Queen shirt on!
With the way Em and Whit are together, how often do people think that Whit is her mom?
@der_lila_Stern@xanga - That actually happens a lot. She gets a lot of strange looks because when we go out, she always is the one holding her. I just laugh and do what my mom used to do with me when we went out with my little brother...We would be at the really ritzy mall and Jerry would be acting like a typical two year old (I was 17). My mom would seriously walk away from the two of us and look back over her shoulder while saying really loudly; "That girl really needs to learn how to control her child." I wanted to kill her.
