  • Oh no she didn't Pt. 2

    As I said earlier, I heard some disturbing news on the math teacher homefront. I thought for a bit and got myself calm before I emailed the cranky bitch teacher. I stated that due to the new information that Whitney would no longer be attending her class until the resolution of the matter. I then explained to her what I had been told. Her response was unreal. The first line convinced me that I am hearing a closer version of the truth from Whitney and her classmates. The first line stated;

    "Oh wow.  Perhaps you would like me to have cameras installed in my classroom so that you could see the truth of this situation. I welcome you to come by any day and observe my classroom."

    Seriously? I am a concerned parent. I have been trying to resolve this situation for almost nine weeks now. You flatly refuse to allow her to transfer out, but then claim she is such a disturbance that your ability to teach has been  hindered?

    Matt was here and helped me word my response. I said;

    "No, I do not feel that a camera is necessary. I would hope that your professionalism as a teacher would have kept you from engaging in the high school drama that this situation has indeed become."

    I said a lot of other boring stuff, but suffice it to say that if she is going to be that rude to a parent I can only imagine how she is dealing with the kids. She hinted yet again that perhaps I was not experienced enough of a parent to understand that teens tend to "exaggerate the situation". Really??? I don't have four teenagers; I have no clue how they act. Freaking idiot. I responded yet again that I was a mother to eight children, four of them teens. I had heard every conceivable thing that they could come up with and in this incident I felt that the situation was not conducive to my daughter learning.

    Matt thinks she is under the impression that she is dealing with a dumb redneck. I don't doubt it seeing that Whitney still has somewhat of her southern accent. That woman has no idea whom she is dealing with and is in for one hell of a surprise next Thursday. Yes dear woman, I speak clearly and intelligently. I even understand the "big" words. Had Matt not been here, I am fairly certain the word "whore" would have found its way into some part of that email.

    I realize that teachers have one if not the most difficult job. I also realize that for every ten fantastic teachers, there is always one that isn't so fantastic. Whitney has always had issues with math. She went around and around with her teacher last year, but each and every time he and I spoke, he had nothing but positive things to say. Even Whitney says that for all the times he came down on her, she learned from him. You aren't always going to like your teachers and I have never (with the exception of that nut in forth grade that called Garrett stupid) sided with my child over a teacher. Whitney is a smart ass and doesn't know when to shut her mouth. However, she has asked numerous times for help and been denied. It has reached a level that is no longer teacher/student but more angry adult/pissed off child.  Just sign her out of the freaking class already and let us all move on.

    I did tell her that I wanted her to refrain from speaking of Whitney in any manner during classtime. If she didn't mention her then we wouldn't have to concern ourselves with "miscommunication". I have not heard back from her and I really hope that I don't.

    Matt is home and trying to play nice so perhaps my night won't be quite the nightmare I thought. Later taters.

    Rude? Oh, no...remember, "rude" is only defined as a flat-out 'fuck you'. LOL. Augh. People...impress me...in a negative way. It seriously sounds like she's used to intimidating parents and making them question themselves in order to get away with treating her students like crap as she sees fit. You said from the start that you didn't 100% buy Whit's version of things as gospel.

    She's there in the role of "teacher" and it doesn't seem like she's fullfilling that role if she's not teaching the girl when she has a question...she's sending her back to other *kids* whom do not have teaching degrees and may not be capable of explaining things to her.

    Oh, and if you're going for bigger words? "Cuntbooger" is both longer than "whore" and highly more accurate a discription of this woman's personality...see, whore's have to actually be liked by someone if they're to...well, be a sucessful whore. Cuntboogers, on the other hand, are pretty repulsive to everyone, across the board.

    @filtered_sunlight - I died at "cuntbooger". Too funny.

    I seriously am trying to come at this from a pro teacher perspective, but when you get bitchy with me I just have to say fuck off and leave me alone. I now tend to believe what the kids are telling me based on your rude attitude to me.

    Haha, "cuntbooger," I love it!!!  Wow, I can't believe that teacher tried to treat you like such a dummy.  And I really can't believe that she thinks she can treat Whitney like that.  Wow!  I'm just flabbergasted.  I hope it gets resolved quickly.

    @gwacemom - And now we know why Tim just can't take me any place nice...

    I try to handle everything as...well, perhaps not "professionally", but just respectful. I may strongly disagree with some people and fight for the slim possibility that they might see my point (I'm always disappointed...remind me of that the next time you see me start, will you?), but it is a rare, rare occasion that I'm reduced to name calling or even swearing. I guess that's why things like the rescue email crap blow my mind so much.

    (And that's still coming...apparently the other members of the rescue feel like chiming in and I'm now breaking it down in simple words...sure, by buying my dog from a breeder, I contributed to some other dog's death...but it was the attitudes of rescues that put us there...so...pot...kettle...whatever...I sleep fine at night...thanks for your concern...?!)

    @filtered_sunlight - I generally do all my name calling in my blog. When the time comes to deal with someone face to face, my southern upbringing comes into play and I do my best to be respectful. However, too often that respect leads people to believe I am stupid or they can walk all over me. Wrong on both counts.

    Oh geez, send me the rescues email. If they can tag team so can we. If the rescue hadn't been an idiot you would have taken the dog. Your purchasing from a breeder didn't kill that dog, their stupidity did. Cuntboogers. LOL, that is my new word.

  • lizheartshakespeare@xanga

    That is so sad. I can't believe a teacher would act like that. Please let me know if this works itself out

    @filtered_sunlight - @gwacemom - you guys slay me.

    I cant wait to read the blog from when the conference actually happens!

  • filtered_sunlight

    @gwacemom - Why I'm just now reading your reply because of Sarah's is beyond me. Damn all that life stuff it's getting in the way of my blogging! LOL.

    The really idiotic thing is that the dog that Mike & I were interested in wasn't killed...he was at the rescue and was likely given to one of their friends or family, which I've come to understand is the norm for purebred dogs under 2 years old that are surrendered to rescues. They're speaking of some hypothetical animal. Something that makes me gnash my teeth because if they're so concerned about the dogs being put down, why are they a yorkie rescue? Put any small, hairy dog in a shelter and you have people lining up around the block to adopt it. It's the large, black dogs that are most commonly put to sleep. Where are the big, black mutt rescues??
