This is a two drink kind of day
Very little sleep last night led into the day from Hell.
Emily's stomach issue has returned with a vengeance. I have spent the better part of the morning holding her while she cried hoping that the medicine would kick in to offer her some relief. After about two hours, it did and she is now sleeping on a pillow in the living room. I had really thought we had overcome this, but I was wrong.
I have nothing of interest to discuss today, so you are all getting the chatty blog. Sorry.
This week is homecoming week for the school. This is Whitney's first homecoming, so she is quite excited. Apparently mums are a thing of the past because I have heard nothing about ordering one. Whitney looked at me the way kids do when I say "cassette tapes" when I asked her about a mum, so I am thinking I am just really old.
I finally got the paperwork from Alyssa's school about having her tested for Dyslexia. It has thus far gone far smoother than I ever anticipated which can only mean trouble will soon be coming. As a rule, schools are notorious about not wanting to test for such things because they are then required to modify her work. This cost money and in case you haven't heard, California has none. When her teacher responded so quickly, I was in shock. I really hope that with this diagnosis, Alyssa can finally learn how to modify how she approaches things and can begin to perform at her full potential. I know that it made a world of difference for Garrett when he received assistance.
Speaking of Garrett; Hayven is home safe and sound. The dumbass still has not been able to figure out how to send me the videos, so I have only one new picture. I fail to see the problem with getting me the video, but we are talking about the dumbass, so anything is possible. Or impossible as the case may be.
I should be taking this moment of quiet and attempt to clean, but that would just suck all the fun out of this already thrilling day. For now I have no plans to take Emily in to her doctor. We know the problem and know how to fix it, so I don't feel like wasting her pediatricians time or ours. If the problem does not rectify itself completely by Friday, she will be going in for a check up.
I think I am going to sit back and just breathe for a little bit so that I am ready for the next wave of Emily. Have a great day.

Havent you learned not to inhale your drink? You are supposed to swallow! lol Know that you know *hands over the marg*
Glad Em is getting some respite from the issues.
Must be a California thing, because we always got corsages and boutineers. Weirdos.
Sick kids are no fun! Hope Emily gets to feeling better soon. And I hope the testing for dyslexia all goes smoothly for Alyssa.
@der_lila_Stern@xanga - LOL, I just remember that the day of our homecoming's all the girls wore those ridiculous mums with the ribbons hanging to the ground and cow bells attached to the bottom. We all had our boyfriends names on them along with our different club thing. My always had a drill team theme and we wore them all day and to the game that night. Whitney looks at me like I am from another planet.
@gwacemom - Cow bells? *joins Whit and Sarah in gawking, open mouthed, at you*
@filtered_sunlight - LOL, little bitty cow bells, not the big honking things. Seriously, do you guys have no clue what I am talking about? (so feeling like a grandmother now)
@gwacemom - LMAO! Cowbells. I want pictures. And I want them now damn it! No, we did wrist corsages. Mostly for pictures. They got laid on the tables at the dance. Then they stayed in the fridge until they were thrown away. You guys were weird!
@filtered_sunlight - how do we get her quietly back to the padded room?
@der_lila_Stern@xanga - Exactly what we did!
Hmm...I think ma might have some of those little cow bells in her craft stuff...and some ribbon...maybe we could tie them around the stem of her margarita glass and jingle it in the padded room?
@der_lila_Stern@xanga - @filtered_sunlight - O.M.G. I can't believe you guys don't know what I am talking about. I feel so damn old. We didn't wear these to the dance; this was for the football game and the day of. They were these huge mums that were placed inside this round ribbon thing and they had like four foot ribbons in your school colors hanging down. You put football thingies and bells, etc. on them.
It will take some doing, but I am sure I can find a picture of me in one from years ago. LOL
Wow! That's really wonderful that Alyssa is going to get the help she needs. I have heard how hard it can be to get schools to work with families to get help. Hopefully they will find a good program to work for her!
(PS Skylaravalon sent me over here through the International Xanga Friend Day that I'm doing on my site.)
@TheCheshireGrins@xanga - I sent you to someone else today. How sweet of skylaravalon, I don't even know them. I really like this idea.
Aww, hope & pray that Emily feels much better and you both sleep peacefully tonight.
BTW, I'm 48. Notice my profile pic, how I use my coffee cup to strategically cover my sagging jowls. ha ha
@P1AutismMom@autisable - LOL, I use both my daughters in my profile pic. I am 40, so you are not all that much older. Although I will admit, it is nice to be the younger one in a conversation for a change.
@gwacemom - LOL, Well then we will have to keep conversing. :)
@gwacemom - keep drinking, you will forget how old you are! lol
And no, we wore nothing of the sort to school and the game for homecoming. The closest you came was wearing your sports uniform!
@filtered_sunlight - screw the bells, just tempt her with a bottle! lol
@P1AutismMom@autisable - I would like that. You don't seem easily offended by the antics of the three of us and that is always a good thing.
@gwacemom - You're still older than two of us... Caw, caw, caw...
@filtered_sunlight - You are so going to get it.
